When Rachel Norager experienced post-natal depression, the stigma associated with mental health issues left her unable to recognise her own symptoms and access the diagnosis, treatment and support she needed. Stigma around mental health issues is particularly acute in Singapore, where recent research revealed that 75% of people wrongly associate the term mental health with illness.

Rachel responded to her experience by becoming an advocate for mental health issues at J&J, launching the Alliance for Diverse Abilities (ADA) Employee Resource Group in J&J Singapore, and spearheading the #imhere campaign, a hugely successful long-term behavioural change program aimed at removing the stigma associated with mental health issues and advocating for an effective employee support system.
